Course aim: The aim of this online First Aid course online is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be a First Aid Responder
Course objectives:
At the completion of this First Aid Response course online learners will be able to:
• deal with life threatening or potentially life threatening conditions in the pre-hospital environment until arrival of emergency medical services.
• provide First Aid Response for conditions not thought to be life-threatening but are necessary to prevent further harm before the emergency medical services arrive.
• provide pre-hospital First Aid Response in a wide range of environments including home and recreational settings.
• display the requisite personal skills including composure, competence and self-confidence while understanding their limitations.
• recognise and be able to cope with the additional challenges provided by “Special Circumstances” for which additional training must be completed

Course Access: In order to participate in the course learners must have a reasonable level of English comprehension.

PHECC First Aid Response Course duration: 18 Hours delivered over three days, one through video elearning (7 hours) and followed by one day on Zoom and then one day in the classroom.
Learners will be assessed on five FAR skills including CPR on the final day.
First Aid Course Online Delivery Methodology
This course is delivered through elearning followed by practical demonstration and assessment in the classroom.
The theory is delivered via elearning on your own time with a day in a traditional classroom setting for practical exercises and assessments. This element of the course is highly interactive and participation is required from learners. Once the learners have completed the elearning they will attend 1 day on Zoom and then be assessed in the classroom.
The elearning course is hosted on our WordPress Learning Management System. This is comprised of self-paced on-demand eLearning Modules
At the end of each module there is a quiz. Time has been allowed for remediation where the learner can redo the module if the quiz has not been successfully completed.
The learning course is then followed by a traditional classroom session which involves practical demonstration and skills assessment.
In the classroom session, the theory is recapped, the learners complete the 20 question MCQ and all skills are demonstrated, practiced and then assessed.

Certification
